Site Access
The site is currently accessed via a driveway from Tenterfield, with dropped kerbs provided. We had a meeting with Essex County Council Highways Department to discuss the proposed access strategy and it was agreed that the use of the existing access would be suitable to serve the proposed development, subject to some slight modifications. We do not anticipate this to cause the loss of parking on Tenterfield.
One very important change is that the entrance to the site at Tenterfield will be permanently gated to ensure security and privacy on the site.
The access road has been designed to accommodate two cars passing and will operate under a shared-surface type arrangement. Given the development is for only 12 houses, and will therefore have a very low level of vehicle trips coming into and out of the site, it is considered that this arrangement is acceptable.
A passing place has also been provided on the bend in the access road to ensure
that delivery vans, refuse vehicles and emergency vehicles can access the site
safely.
